What you need to know about Laszlo Hanyecz who traded 10,000 BTCs with just 2 large pizzas.

Although, the heartbreaking story is no more new to everyone in the Crypto space. It all happened in 2010 when BTC was uselessly available to the general public.

In May 2010, a man named Laszlo Hanyecz posted on BITCOINTALK'S FORUM, offering to give Bitcoins in exchange for pizza.

He posted;

Pizza for Bitcoins?

I’ll pay 10,000 bitcoins for a couple of pizzas... like maybe 2 large ones so I have some left over for the next day. I like having left over pizza to nibble on later. You can make the pizza yourself and bring it to my house or order it for me from a delivery place.

Unfortunately for him, a seller replied, and Lazlo Hanyecz ended up giving away

10,000 BTC in exchange for a snack (2 Large Pizzas). That was how he ended up eating a meal that, by this time, would be worth more than 440 million dollars. That clearly reveals how Bitcoin was cheap and easy to get in those days.

Some people think he couldn't have done that if he didn't have more than enough Bitcoins. Some also argue that he must have been one of the Bitcoin 'whales' of his time.

You may want to ask these questions;

Where did he get such huge amount of Bitcoin from?!

Satoshi Nakamoto, when he published Bitcoin's white paper in 2008, included the source code and the guides for mining Bitcoin. Bitcoin mining started in early 2009 and lots of people got thousands of BTC in the long run. So, it's very easy to spend anyhow what you do not really put much effort into. Laszlo Hanyecz could have gotten more than a hundred thousand BTCs through mining.

Is Lazlo Hanyecz still rich in Bitcoin?

Well, no one has been able to find out if Lazlo still has Bitcoins till date.

Regarding his Bitcoin's wallet address, it is found that he has received up to 81,432.09 BTCs in total, having 0.00 BTC left in his wallet as of the time of writing this.

Who knows? Probably he transferred the all other coins to a separate Wallet.

Laszlo Hanyecz is a computer programmer in Florida. His net-worth in 2021 with 10,000 BTC could've been approximately Four hundred and Eighty million dollars, according to the current price.

Nevertheless, no one should blame him for spending that amount of Bitcoin because Bitcoin was literally cheap and it was somewhat reasonable to buy a snack with $30.

What you should learn from this story:

Cryptocurrency is not a eat-now-now kind of a thing. If you are an investor or you have the opportunity to get some coins through Airdrops or mining, your main concern is how to get more and hold for the future... Not about how to trade it for a cheap item. 10,000 BTC's evaluation was just $30 when Lazlo traded it with Pizza. Few people knew Bitcoin would worth thousands of dollars in the future, that's why some early adopters lavished part or all of their holdings.

As a long time coin holder, you need to understand the concept. Do not always sell cheap. Digital Currency is still in its early stage, you still have a lot of bucks to make.

Think about the future guys. Let's meet at the top!
