Thousands of people, as well as organizations, have donated millions of dollars in cryptocurrency to aid Ukraine in its ongoing conflict.

CryptoPunk #5364 was transferred to Ukraine's Ethereum address 15 hours ago, contributing to a donation campaign that has already raised over $37 million in digital currencies.

The punk sold for $31,300 in February 2021, which was the last time it was sold. According to their wallet address, the anonymous donor has a collection of numerous additional Punks and more than 29 ETH. Some people estimate the rare NFT to be worth up to $200,000

On the Tuesday after February 26, when the Ukrainian government began asking for donations through its official Twitter account, approximately $37 million was donated in ETH, DOT, USDT, BTC, and other cryptocurrencies.

"Stand with the people of Ukraine. Now accepting cryptocurrency donations. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT," they tweeted.

Hundreds of people from all across the world responded by making direct payments to the wallet addresses supplied, substantially increasing the sum donated in cryptos.

In response to the tweet, Gavin Wood, the creator of Polkadot and Kusama and a co-founder of Ethereum, responded, "If you post a DOT address, I'll personally contribute $5m."

The Ukrainian government, however, posted on May 1 that "the people of Ukraine are grateful for the support and donations from the worldwide crypto community. Polkadot donations are now being accepted as well."

2 hours ago from the press release, A donation of 1,000,000 USDT from an unknown person was made to Support Ukraine.

The official Ethereum address of Ukraine tagged 'Ukraine Crypto Donation" currently contains 80.19 ETH and over $1.4 million in other tokens; besides other cryptos on other chains like Smart chain, Polygon, and others.
